Computerized Accounting And Bookkeeping
Computerized bookkeeping is a fast growing, exciting field with a wide range of employment possibilities. The growing popularity of such computerized bookkeeping packages as PeachTree and QuickBooks means there will be a need for well-trained people who can operate these programs for years to come.
We offer a 12-week course, Computer Office Specialist (with accounting emphasis), and an 18-week Computer Office Specialist II - Bookkeeping course, both of which offer you a certificate after completion.
Our goal is to provide a detailed understanding of the technical knowledge and applications of general bookkeeping principles. Students progress through multiple levels of bookkeeping starting at the beginner level. This accelerated training teaches bookkeeping procedures, accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledgers, account maintenance and reconciliation, and payroll.
In addition, this course builds on basic bookkeeping principles, procedures and concepts as applied to small retail businesses. The bookkeeping cycle, which involves journals, ledgers and the preparation of elementary financial statements, is covered. An in-depth analysis of small employer topics is undertaken by each student so as to increase the understanding of the context of small business bookkeeping.
