GED Test Preparation
The General Education Development (GED) set of tests can allow students to demonstrate that they possess the skills and knowledge comparable to a high school degree. Every year, hundreds of thousands of adults take the GED in order to get jobs, further their careers, earn promotions, or qualify for education or training, such as at a vocational college. Of those who attempt the tests every year, only about 70% pass. Almost three-fourths of test-takers are over age 19, proving that it is never too late to receive the recognition and the benefits of the GED certification.
Those who pass the GED certification receive a certificate that the vast majority of colleges, training schools, and employers in the nation recognize to be the equivalent of a high school diploma. The school has found that in today's job market, not having a high school diploma or a GED puts people at a disadvantage when applying for jobs.
Brushing up on skills you may not use very often such as math and science, and learning test taking techniques can be an essential aid to passing the GED tests and earning the certificate.
Community Business College offers two approaches to students interested in getting their GED. The first is and instructor-led, interactive program that can be done at the school's Modesto campus and another online only, 6-week program. Both are described below.
